JANUARY 20th FIELD TRIP
On Saturday, Jan. 20th, Rio Brazos Audubon will sponsor a field trip to the Birch Creek Unit of Lake Somerville. There is no charge and families are welcome. We will meet at the Brazos Center around 7 am and do a little birding there. After 30-40 minutes, we will car pool to the Birch Creek Unit at Lake Somerville. Most of the park is closed but there are a few trails that are open for a few miles, at least one that goes along the lake. The park office opens at 8:30 AM so we will likely bird around the office if we get there before then. I would like to get proper maps of the area and talk to staff. We will carpool to the Birch Creek Unit at Lake Somerville, where there are a few trails open. If you have a State Parks Pass, please bring it, so that everyone in your car will get in free. Otherwise it is $4 or $2 if you have a Senior Pass. Please bring a scope if you have one and a sack lunch if you want to join a group picnic, or you may leave whenever you wish.
Meet at the Brazos Center at 7.00 AM.
