Beyond the Backyard! is an event designed to share all aspects of bird-life with the community!
Maybe you’re interested in birds you see at the feeders in your backyard, maybe you’re an
ornithologist with cutting edge avian research to share, perhaps you’re a bird-watcher who is
looking to improve your skills, or maybe you know nothing about birds but are curious about
them! This conference is designed for all groups to come together to share and disseminate
knowledge so that we can all learn a little more about the natural world Beyond our Backyards!

Abstract Submission Guidelines
Due: December 5th, 2025
Please include:
- Presentation Title
- Presenter Name
- Presenter Affiliation
- Presentation Type (Poster or 15-min Oral Presentation)
- Abstract (max 500 words)
Presenters are required to shape their work to be readily understood by a broad community
audience, including those that are not from a strict academic or ornithological background.
Posters/Presentations should be of an avian focus, but can be of a broad variety of
backgrounds/topics within that scope (e.g., Conservation, management, ecology, ecotoxicology,
landscape ecology, etc.). Not all submitted abstracts will be selected due to limited space and
time-slots. Presenters will be notified of their selection within the first week of December
through the email they used for registration.
